One company - Over 50 household brands - Enormous impact
For this month’s #DonorFriday, we want to highlight the fantastic scale and breadth of product donations from our longstanding partner Unilever UK & Ireland along with the impact they are generating.
By supporting In Kind Direct with product donations from a large number of brands in their portfolio, Unilever fully embodies our mission that “everyone deserves access to life’s essentials”. Whether it is ambient food, hot drinks, personal care or household items, Unilever’s essential products have been supporting thousands of organisations and hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people across the UK throughout 2020. Their ongoing support has meant even more during the current pandemic.
As well as the remarkable scale of their donations, the diversity of the products that Unilever donate helps us meet the wide range of needs across our charity network. Ambient store cupboard products from Pot Noodle and PG Tips allow for homeless support organisations to give out warm food and drink quickly and effectively to the people they support. Personal care items from brands like Dove and Lynx allow charities to distribute care packages helping isolated people stay clean and healthy throughout lockdown. Household products from Cif and Surf help organisations keep their premises clean and the people they support dressed in clean clothes.
Accessing high quality branded goods via In Kind Direct gives beneficiaries a real boost to their self-esteem. Just because people are being supported by a charity does not mean they should sacrifice on quality of the products that they use.
